Over at Amazon, this Tanto-style Dewalt folding knife, DWHT10272, seems to have dropped in price, to $11. Or at least it seems to have dropped in price; I remember it costing a few bucks more.
It has a partially serrated stainless steel blade, thumb stud for one-handed opening, and a lightweight handle design.
The knife’s styling screams “tacticool,” but hey – the price is low enough and Tanto-style pointed blades are great for piercing tasks. This looks like a very jobsite-suitable pocket knife.
I’d toss something like this in my toolbox for “just in case” use. For regular use, I carry something better. And although I tend to have pricey knife preferences, there are plenty of great folding knives can be had in the $20 to $50 price range.
$11 seems fair for a beater that can handle a multitude of cutting tasks. The serrated edge should work great on fibrous materials, the straight edge on everything else, and the Tanto tip should work great for piercing or scoring.

Over at Home Depot, there’s a special promo 2-pack right now, DWHT74761GC, which gives you the Dewalt Tanto folding knife and a Dewalt autoloading folding retractable utility knife, DWHT10261, for just $15.
This autoloading knife makes for quick blade changes. Remove and discard the worn blade, and automatically load a fresh blade from the refillable storage compartment.
The knife has a retractable blade, and also folds up to create a compact and very pocketable package.
$15 for the 2-pack is a great deal especially since this knife retails for around $13 to $15 by itself.

There’s also a special $15 2-pack of the autoloading utility knife.
So… it’s $11 for the Tanto knife, $15 for a 2-knife variety bundle that includes the Tanto knife and the autoloading utility knife, or $15 for a 2-pack of utility knives.

While we’re talking about Dewalt utility knives, this 2-pack of retractable knives is also on sale, for a little over $13 via HD.
This style has an angled handle and is non-foldable, but is comfortable, sturdy, and while large it’s still quite pocketable.
I bought a pack of these knives a while ago, and they’re quite decent.

I’ve always been pleased with Dewalt utility knives, and with prices like this I’m awfully tempted to stock up. They have some new styles coming out, such as this all-metal utility knife, but chances are that those won’t be discounted anytime soon.
My current daily-use utility knife is a side-slide Milwaukee, which I bought with a FastBack folding knife as part of a special holiday 2-knife bundle, not unlike those featured here.
